Today, my golf coach offered me the chance to volunteer at our school’s summer indoor golf camp. My role was to supervise a group of elementary school students, making sure that they followed the drills assigned by the coach, took turns hitting balls, and taught them golf terms related to the simulator, such as APEX, Launch Angle and etc. Unlike the driving range or chipping area, the indoor golf camp offered very different experience for them. It was cool to see how quickly the little kids engaged with the technology. I truly believe that the numbers provided by the simulator help kids or any beginners understand the game better.

I had an opportunity to work one-on-one with a middle school boy who had a goal of making his high school golf team. He had a full schedule with school, band, soccer, and a long commute every day. He started to see how much he enjoyed golf and how it challenged him in a different way. He needed some help staying focused, improving his skills, and learning how to practice effectively. I was able to help him with that. He reminded me of how I was when I was getting started. After our first meeting, his parent shared some positive feedback. It made me realize that even small efforts can have an impact.
